Tattooing Since 2003 |
I get asked all the time why we have pottery and tattoos together. It's because I love making them both, and because they give such happiness to the person who collects the tattoo or the person who collects pottery. Both arts are very addictive... One aspect that I really like about clay is that it is so forgiving. You can pretty much do anything to it, and it is ok. You can get it very precise and perfect looking, or can keep the "man-made" look. It can be both functional and non-functional. Just so much fun to get dirty and see what else you can make. I love pottery because you can touch it and hold it; it can last for centuries, this thing that you make out of dirt. I truly believe that coffee tastes better out of a man made stoneware mug rather than some mass-produced factory cup. (smile...) I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I love the immediate satisfaction you get from tattoos. I love to see the line drawings come to life in the skin. I also love the fact that my art work makes people happy. Nothing can compare to the satisfaction of seeing that total happiness on the face of your customers after you are done with their tattoo! It is awesome! I love the fact that tattoos and pottery are pretty much complete opposites in every way. I like how together they keep me balanced. And boy do I need balance! hahaha!! Portraits |
My name is Laura Schrampfer I am from Appleton WI. I have been drawing ever since I could write. I have had countless art related classes inside and out of school. I was a student at the Renaissance School of Arts inside of Appleton West High School.I was accepted into MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) and have been doing tattoos for about 7 years now. I never thought I was going to be a tattoo artist- I always wanted a job that I enjoy and that involved art-and what can I say I love my job! I am always excited to meet other artists, so even if you’re not looking for a tattoo I always enjoy a good conversation. Don’t be shy - stop down and see me! Besides tattoos I also paint and draw, I do just about anything upon request. I love to do portrait work of people and animals be it celebrities, pets, or family members. All I need is an idea from you! Other links: Email Laura:
